  • Meet your PSR team at the UN Ban Talks

    Eight PSR members and staff are spending an entire week at the United Nations to promote the nuclear weapons ban treaty.   • AMA to Consider Divestment of Fossil Fuels Companies

    The American Medical Association House of Delegates at its annual meeting recently took the landmark decision to ask the Board of Governors to divest of its ownership in corporations that receive a majority of their income from exploring for or selling fossil fuels. These proposals were submitted by the American Association of Public Health Physicians. Todd Sack, M.D., played a major role in drafting and submitting the resolution. Besides being an active leader in the Florida Medical Association, Dr. Sack also serves on the boards of PSR/National and PSR/Florida.

  • PSR Members Advocate for Clean Air

    PSR members from several states traveled to Washington, DC to let their members of Congress know that clean air is vitally important to their health. They called for support of the Clean Air Act, which protects our air and authorizes the EPA to set clean air standards. That foundational law is now under attack, as is EPA's authority to set health-protective rules. PSR partnered with Earthjustice, Moms Clean Air Force and other allies in the event.

  • PSR Slams Trump Decision on Climate Accord

    PSR executive director Jeff Carter responded to President Trump's decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord with a statement slamming that decision and saying it "endangers the American communities that he has the duty to protect." Environment and Health program director Barbara Gottlieb reinforced that message when she addressed a rally outside the White House, where she declared climate change a health emergency and said "there is no cure for climate change. There is only prevention."
