James Baier is serving as one of the PSR National Student Representatives for the 2016-2017 academic year. Currently an MD/MPH candidate at the University of Pennsylvania interested in pursuing family medicine, he plans to work with global refugees displaced by both the natural and social consequences of climate change.  

He first became involved with Physicians for Social Responsibility at the 2014 People's Climate March in New York City, where he marched alongside a broad contingent of PSR members. He is currently coordinating an advocacy training program with PSR Philadelphia for health professionals and health professional students. He is also designing lecture-format modules related to advocacy for student PSR members to use as an online resource. He hopes to facilitate a greater degree of activism and collaboration among PSR student members and members of outside organizations with similar objectives.
