Why PSR?

As a physician, through our patients, we have the unique role of playing witness to various types of human tragedy.  I think it is our responsibility to take their stories and provide a voice for our patients.  As a community of like-minded individuals in PSR and IPPNW we can use our collective voices and medical and scientific knowledge to “protect human life form the greatest threats to health and survival.”

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Gearhart has been involved with PSR since 2002 when she joined the medical student chapter at Indiana University School of Medicine.  She later became president of this medical student chapter until 2006.  Throughout medical school, she attended and presented at several national student PSR and international conferences for International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War.  Dr. Gearhart recently completed her General Preventive Medicine residency as well as her Masters of Public Health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  She is currently working with CenseoHealth to provide medical evaluations for Medicare Advantage members.

Dr. Gearhart has represented PSR at various UN conferences, including the preparatory conferences for the Arms Trade Treaty.
