April Avant is the Outreach Associate at the national office of Physicians for Social Responsibility in Washington, DC. She works with closely with the Associate Director on PSR’s membership and communications issues, as well as organizing and providing support for meetings and events. Prior to PSR, April worked in communications and business development for a realtor with several markets throughout the southeast. Since coming to PSR in October 2010, April has assisted in the successful development and launch of our biannual student conference “Rx for Survival,” played a key role in the execution of year- end email campaign communications and implemented a social media presence. She lives in Washington, DC.
