Elana Simon is a Communications Manager at PSR, where she leverages social media and the press to mobilize the nuclear disarmament movement and helps build PSR's communications capacity. Elana is driven to work with an organization of activists from the health professional community to promote a humanitarian and social justice perspective on global security politics. She became interested in how we communicate about security in her prior work. Before joining PSR, she interned with ReThink Media's Peace & Security Collaborative, where she learned how to apply the best practices in digital and traditional communications advocacy to a range of nuclear disarmament issues. She also contributed to the communications team on a Congressional campaign and studied media portrayals of the Iran nuclear deal during an undergraduate Research Assistantship. Elana holds a B.A. in Politics from Whitman College.
