The Paris Climate Agreement puts the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change. Tell President Trump that leaving the accord puts polluters' interests before our health and welfare.

Don't Talk about the Weather!

Posted by Barbara Gottlieb on March 1, 2017

How's the weather? Oops, don't ask! Funny how talking about the weather used to be the epitome of polite, noncontroversial conversation. That's no longer the case – not when the eastern half of the country just chalked up one of the warmest streaks of February weather on record. (Here in DC we had temperatures in the 70s.) California had massive rain and snow storms -- needed to break the drought, but not all at once! Most places seem to be stumbling through destabilized weather. Sounds like climate change to me. Yes, talking about the weather has a whole new meaning.

I agree, but be careful, as those who like to "cherry pick" may bring up the difference between "weather" and "climate change", the latter generally agreed to be over a 20-30 year period, at least by previous definitions. Yes, changes have accelerated recently to a significant degree, in my opinion, but watch out for those who still like to disagree with climate change definitions. They may take you to task.
