Make a difference in the challenge to confront global warming and prevent nuclear war and the development and use of nuclear weapons.
Join us as we urge the Port of Kalama to study the full climate, health, and safety impacts of this project.
The carbon emissions generated by all participant and speaker travel as well as building energy used for the Friday-Sunday Climate Smart Southwest events will be offset by The Local Trust, a Tucson non-profit. Funds contributed by The Local Trust will be aggregated and used in partnership with the Tucson Audubon Society to sequester carbon in native tree planting and to help make solar hot water systems available on new Habitat for Humanity Tucson homes. In the process, The Local Trust estimates that 15 metric tons of carbon will be offset which will make the Climate Smart Southwest events carbon-neutral. For more information on building community climate resilience via carbon offsets through The Local Trust, see www.thelocaltrust.org.
