Although environmental health risks are
often thought to be due to exposure to toxic substances and natural or man-made
disasters, they occur frequently in everyday life—in homes, in schools, in
water supplies, at food markets, and in restaurants.

Announces an essay contest open to High School students in the Austin area
$500.00-First prize, essay will be sent to local politician(s) and placed on our website
$250.00-second prize
The top three contestants will all be awarded recognition for their efforts on our website.
The essays will be judged by a panel of environmental health experts comprised of Austin PSR members.
To enter the contest, submit an essay of 500 words or fewer answering the above question and a cover sheet with your contact information, school, and grade to austinpsr@gmail.com by March 21st.
Winners will be contacted via email and announced at an Earth Day celebration in Austin, TX.
