Several Austin PSR members participated in Global Warming awareness during release of "The Day After Tomorrow", an early foray (albeit hypothetical) into public education of the impact of global warming.
Since that time, the public awareness of global warming has increased tremendously thanks to the efforts of many concerned habitants. Most notable, the book The Weather Makers (by Tim Flannery) and An Inconvenient Truth (by Al Gore) have put the issue front and center.
