Austin area's ozone at worst levels since 2006 - Dr. Elliot Trester of Austin Physicians for Social Responsibility said that young people, the elderly and fetuses are at risk for serious and potentially lifelong complications when exposed to high levels of smog.
Letter to Austin Mayor and City Council Members: Formula1 Racetrack - APSR joined voices with other Austin based environmental groups in expressing concern about increased air pollution and development of a Formula One racetrack. Although city council did endorse a Formula One race schedule to begin in 2012, promoters agreed to environmental concessions such as hiring low-emission shuttles to transport spectators to and from Austin.
