Tell President Obama to cancel the Vogtle Loan Guarantee! We don’t want or need new nuclear reactors and we don’t think that taxpayers should be on the hook to support a mature industry.
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: Tallahassee Film Society at All Saints Cinema, 918-1/2 Railroad Avenue
Several local environmental groups will be coming together to host a screening of Gasland at All Saints Cinema (918 Railroad Ave.) on Sat, July 27th at 1pm!
We are hosting this screening in light of the recent attempt of the Florida legislature to legitimize hydraulic fracturing (fracking) through a bill that failed in the last session, and the application of a Texas corporation to conduct experimental drilling in Collier County (Naples and Immokolee) in search of natural gas deposits.
Floridians need to come together and say, "Don't frack Florida!" This event will raise awareness about the negative environmental and health effects of fracking, and will include a panel discussion on fracking and the threat it poses to Florida following the film.
This event is generously sponsored by Physicians for Social Responsibility. The event is free and open to the public, although donations will be accepted that will go towards recouping the cost of the event, and then to the sponsoring organization.
Hope to see you there! Show up early -- seating is limited!
