Alan H. Lockwood

Dr. Lockwood will be presenting an overview of the life cycle of coal; from extraction to combustion and beyond for health professionals and those interested in public health issues. He will also discuss coal’s impact on air, water, climate change, as well as our economy. Finally, Dr. Lockwood will present examples of some of the myths that supporters of coal use and how we can refute these false claims.

In Michigan 60% of our energy comes from coal. Through this webinar you will learn what the harmful effects of coal are and you will walk away with a better understanding of how our energy dependence on coal in Michigan is impacting the health of our communities and our energy future.
