April 8-10th, 2011 at George Washington University Jack Morton Auditorium Rx for Survival: Social Justice and Medical Advocacy |
As we celebrate the PSR 50th Anniversary, student medical and health professionals from both graduate and undergraduate programs convened in Washington, DC on April 8-10th for Rx for Survival: Medical Advocacy and Social Justice.
On April 8-10th, Physicians for Social Responsibility's student-led division, SPSR, brought together student health professionals, advocacy leaders, and issue experts from around the country for Rx for Survival: a conference designed to train young health professionals in advocacy, promote social justice and educate on issues that are the gravest threats to human survival.
Rx for Survival sought to create a unique forum that promotes social responsibility and smart policy from the medical perspective. Our goals were to encourage participants to look beyond the traditional realms of their medical or public health professional careers by becoming change makers in both the medical and policy world.
We would like to thank the sponsors of this student-led conference: The Josiah Macy Foundation, Friendship Fund, and The Sisyphus Foundation.
