Think Outside the Bomb has a variety of events in the months to come. Read on for how you can get involved.
Calling organizers and activists! This 4-day training (6 days including travel) is the beginning of our 2010 campaign. We have invited 50 youth and student organizers, the majority being participants from past conferences, to join us and deepen their organizing skills in the state where the bomb was born, New Mexico. Training topics include: Non violent direct action, a cultural immersion component, education on nuclear weapons and power, organizing an action camp, anti-oppression and cross cultural training, music, art, and more. After the week together we expect those organizers to go home and get together with folks in their area to do outreach and some action in April to involve more youth, students, workers, affected communities and those in solidarity in preparation for attending the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty Review in NYC, late April through early May.

TOTB and hundreds of thousands of antinuclear activists from around the world will be attending the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty Review in May 2010. This is the first NPT review post-bush era and 2010 is also the 65th Anniversary of both the birth of the bomb and the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear genocides. It is time to disarm and your voices and action are needed! There are many events being planned around the NPT and TOTB plans to participate in a variety of ways. We will be having a TOTB style youth component of the International Peace Conference on May 1 being organized by an international coalition of abolition groups. We will be part of the youth contingent in the march and rally on May 1. We are also working organizing with other groups doing civil disobedience at the UN and in solidarity with May Day activities. We want your help in planning how TOTB participates in the treaty review activities.

In August we will be returning to the place where the nuclear weapon was born and where it will be dismantled, Los Alamos NM. We hope to have 200 - 300 people attend this 1-2 week action camp happening around the 65th Anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We have many ideas and could do anything—from planting corn, to political theater, to music & art, to service work in local communities, to creating permaculture, and maybe all of these. Help us shape it. Add your mind and your heart.
