Particles on the Wall (POTW) is an interdisciplinary exhibit exploring elements of the nuclear age, science, Hanford history, their thread through our lives and their bearing on the Columbia River and natural world. The exhibit interweaves visual art, poems, and science with history and memorabilia to address issues of radioactive contamination, nuclear weapons and technology in Washington State, and their roles in southeastern Washington’s desert landscape as well as impacts on local and global communities.
The Spokane opening reception, September 3, will include refreshments and an opportunity to add your story about your connection to Hanford to the project in the This is My Hanford live video-interview corner.
Exhibit contributors are: visual artists Mike Bristow, Janice Camp, Dianne Dickeman, T. Michael Gardiner, Douglas Gast, Gail Grinnell, Judith Loomis, Joel Rogers, Ruth Yarrow, John White; literary artists Tom Buchanan, Nancy Dickeman, Kathleen Flenniken, Debora Greger, Irene Hays, William Witherup; scientific information, Steven Gilbert, and history and memorabilia, Nancy Dickeman, Dianne Dickeman, Connie Estep and the CREHST Museum, Steven Gilbert, Gail Grinnell, Bill Gurwell, and Sandy Hankins.
Co-curators for POTW at the Richland Public Library and Empyrean Coffeehouse are Nancy Dickeman, Steven Gilbert and Dianne Dickeman. POTW fuses art and science with the goal to create a healthier and more peaceful world.
POTW is a project of Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility with additional support from the Institute for Neurotoxicology and Neurological Disorder.. With special thanks to the Richland Public Library and Empyrean Coffee House for hosting this exhibit.

Other venues: POTW is a traveling, growing exhibit. We are actively looking for other venues and new contributors. In September, POTW will be at The Empyrean Coffeehouse in Spokane, WA.
