Tell President Obama and the US DOT to stop oil trains carrying diluted tar sands and fracked shale oil from the Bakken formation—both are more toxic, more explosive, and more carbon-intensive than conventional crude.
WPSR board member and palliative care nurse, Gerri Haynes, and her husband, cardiologist Bob Haynes, will be in Spokane on Sept. 6 and 7 to share their experiences in leading medical delegations to Gaza. In April 2014, Gerri and Bob made their sixth trip to Gaza with a team of eight doctors and nurses. Gerri has been organizing delegations to the Middle East for Washington PSR since 1993 and has been in daily contact with friends in Gaza during the last few weeks. Gerri and Bob will be returning with a medical delegation to Gaza in October.
Saturday, September 6, 7-9 PM, Community Building: lobby (35 W. Main)
While these are free events, donations for medicines and supplies for the next trip to Gaza are welcome.
These events are sponsored by the Spokane Veterans for Peace, the Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane, and Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility.
