Tell President Obama and the US DOT to stop oil trains carrying diluted tar sands and fracked shale oil from the Bakken formation—both are more toxic, more explosive, and more carbon-intensive than conventional crude.

Lanterns for Peace Madison

Location: Tenney Park Shelter, East Johnson St. at the Yahara River. Enter from Sherman Ave.

This is a family-friendly event with refreshments, crafts and music. Please join us to remember those who have died in war and to reflect on a peaceful, nuclear weapons-free world. We'll have a short program at 7:30 pm featuring speaker Mary Doherty, with a special tribute to Dr. Jeff Patterson, longtime PSR leader and passionate anti-nuclear activist. At dusk, about 8:40 pm, we'll float illuminated lanterns in the Tenney Park Lagoon. Please join us!
