Steinemann, PhD is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and
Professor of Public Affairs, at the University of Washington. Dr. Steinemann
specializes in the health effects of pollutants, emissions from consumer
products, emerging contaminants in water supplies, and indoor air quality,
combining expertise in engineering, policy, and public health. She works with agencies,
industries, and individuals, providing science for decisions to protect human
