Brenda Olsen, RN
Brenda Olsen, RN, is the Chief Operating Officer for the American Lung Association of the Southeast, serving Florida Georgia and South Carolina. After sixteen years of providing direct patient care as a registered nurse, Brenda began her Lung Association career in 1988 as a smoking cessation counselor. She continued providing cessation services for more than 15 years. Now in her role as Chief Operating Officer, she directs the association’s communications, human resources and the governmental affairs activities. She is the chief spokesperson on legislative and policy issues, and interacts with Florida departments of government to promote healthy air, asthma education, and tobacco use prevention activities. She serves on numerous coalitions addressing Lung Association priority issues.
