Catherine A. Porter, JD

A graduate of Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, Catherine practiced employment law, representing employees and labor unions, particularly teachers.  She served as the director of legal services and policy at the Women's Cancer Resource Center in Oakland.  As staff attorney at WorkSafe, she provided information, training, and advocacy on workers’ compensation and occupational safety and health.  As a policy consultant over the last six years, her focus has included environmental and workers’ health. She currently provides policy advocacy and analysis for CA Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative as their Policy Director and for SF Bay Area Physicians for Social Responsibility. She was a fellow with the Women’s Foundation’s Women’s Policy Institute and Budget Advocacy Program. In her free time, Catherine is an avid runner and world traveler, loves to backpack, and sings with a community chorus.
