Evelyn I. Bain MEd, RN, COHN-S, FAAOHN
Evelyn I. Bain MEd, RN, COHN-S, FAAOHN is a consultant in occupational
health and safety. Formerly an Associate Director and the Coordinator of the
Division of Health and Safety for the Massachusetts Nurses Association, her
work with nurses focused on addressing unsafe working conditions in healthcare
settings, primarily acute care hospitals. Nurses adverse health outcomes from exposure
to natural rubber latex, personal fragrance, and industrial cleaning chemicals was
addressed in many forums including on-line continuing education, educational
events, and union contract language. These learning opportunities and
subsequent activities resulted in improved working conditions and safer
healthcare environments for nurses, other healthcare workers, and their patients.
Evelyn is a graduate of Rhode Island Hospital School of
Nursing Roger Williams University and Rhode Island College.
