California Energy Commission Workshop on Nuclear Power
Sacramento, California
A workshop to review California utilities’ progress in completing studies and actions recommended by the CEC and directives by the California Public Utilities Commission during ongoing and future plant license renewal evaluations for Diablo Canyon and the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. The workshop will also discuss uncertainties about seismic and tsunami hazards at both sites along with the environmental, safety, and economic implications of recent events at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan.

Festival for Nuclear-Free Future

Concerned that U.S. nuclear plants are subject to safety risks similar to those that caused the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan, and aware of the ongoing dangers of nuclear proliferation and nuclear war, a coalition of Boston area peace, environmental, and religious groups have joined forces to sponsor a Festival for a Nuclear-Free Future Saturday, July 16, 2011 in Boston.
