Rally at the Capitol April 26th - Remembering Chernobyl and Contemplating a Nuclear Colorado
Denver, Colorado
Colorado State Representative Wes McKinley (HD-64) will present the keynote speech for an April 26th rally on the Capitol Building Steps in Denver (4:00 – 5:30 p.m.).
The event serves as a remembrance of the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster which took place 25 years ago and will also address nuclear-related issues in Colorado.
PSR Colorado President Dr. Roberta Richardson is slated to speak about how "Nuclear Power is Hazardous to your Health"
PSR Board Member Bob Kinsey will lecture on "Why we don't know how many people died At Chernobyl and why this is so important"

Colonel Richard Klass (USAF, ret.) of the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and Dr. Ira Helfand, board member and past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility, will provide medical and military perspectives on nuclear arms security policy. Their talks will follow progress of the New START treaty and the next steps for issues that include curbing the threat of nuclear terrorism, future treaties and funding for national nuclear security administration.
