PSR Board Member Tom Newman, MD, MPH, received the Elizabeth M. Leistikow Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference in San Francisco on Oct. 2. The award recognizes Section on Epidemiology members who have a track record of accomplishments in teaching, administration, and/or advocacy of evidence-based pediatrics over a period of years. Jennifer Read, MD (r), president, AAP Section on Epidemiology presented the award to Tom. Johannah Newman (l), Tom’s wife is on the left.
Dr. Newman has coauthored a new book, Evidence-Based Diagnosis (Cambridge University Press, 2009), by Thomas B. Newman and Michael A. Kohn, which is available through Amazon. Dr. Newman is donating 100% of his royalties to PSR.
