Arctic reverses trend, is warmest in two millennia
The Arctic is warmer than it's been in 2,000 years, even though it should be cooling because of changes in the Earth's orbit that cause the region to get less direct sunlight. Indeed, the Arctic had been cooling for nearly two millennia before reversing course in the last century and starting to warm as human activities added greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

PSR Leaders Testify at EPA Hearings on Health Impacts of Global Warming
The Environmental Protection Agency has made an endangerment finding making it clear that greenhouse gas emissions must be regulated in order to control global warming and protect human health. Last week, PSR leaders applauded the finding and encouraged the EPA to act.

PSR expresses its appreciation to representatives Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Ed Markey (D-MA) and other members for their leadership in moving a comprehensive energy and climate bill, H.R. 2454, through the House Energy and Commerce Committee. However, in order to protect public health from the most catastrophic impacts of global warming, PSR is calling for significant improvements in the bill to make it more effective.
