In 2012, opponents of nuclear energy had an unprecedented win in the courts, which forced the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to suspend all licensing of U.S nuclear facilities for at least two years to create a federal court-approved, Environmental Impact Statement on the permanent storage of radioactive nuclear waste. The NRC has opened hearings in select locations and by email to receive comments on the Waste Confidence Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement and Proposed Rule. PSR feels that the Draft EIS is completely inadequate and encourages our members and others to comment at these events. Please contact us if you will attend.
