In Memoriam: Steve Gilman, PMP

April 26, 2017

It is with sadness that we commemorate the passing of Steve Gilman. Steve was a dedicated father, husband, and friend to many people. He was a committed, active member of Physicians for Social Responsibility. Steve was a skilled professional project manager with IBM and he applied his organizational skills to his work with PSR. He was deeply concerned about the humanitarian risks of nuclear war, and lectured and published on this issue, yet managed to maintain a great sense of humor. He served as a member of the Executive Committee of The Western North Carolina Chapter of PSR, and for several years served on the PSR National Board. He was generous and dedicated with the time and work he provided. Steve enjoyed spending time with his wife, Beth, and his children, Daniel and Laura. In his young adult years, Steve enjoyed his work as a baseball umpire. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and took great joy in their World Series victory in 2016. Steve leaves this world a better and more hopeful place due to his caring for others, his loyalty and his work.
