PSR Testifies on Public Health Risks of Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Transportation and Storage

On Wednesday, December 5, PSR Security Program Coordinator, Jill Parillo will testify at a Department of Energy (DOE) public hearing on the proposed nuclear waste repository in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. Pointing to the significant risks to human life and health posed by the transport and storage of high-level nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, Ms. Parillo argues that the proposed facility fails to offer a safe and secure solution to our nation’s nuclear waste problem. PSR will be joined by a coalition of peace and security groups including Alliance for Nuclear Accountability, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, Beyond Nuclear and the Nuclear Information and Resource Service.
