On Our Radar

We continue to monitor the ongoing developments at the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear station which is in crisis in the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Four of the six reactors on site lost power, and three experienced core damage due a lack of cooling capacity. A fourth reactor has likely experienced a fire in its spent fuel pool. Authorities are struggling to restore power and cooling to the reactors.
