This section gives you a high-level overview of some planned giving options.

To find out which planned gift is right for you, call or e-mail Mary Dillon Kerwin at 202-587-5231.

Bequest

  •  You can provide now for a future gift to Physicians for Social Responsibility by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust.(Click here for sample language for your will or codicil.) Physicians for Social Responsibility receives the gift, & applies it to the purpose(s) you specified.  Gifts can be defined as a portion of your estate or as a flat dollar amount. With a bequest, your assets remain in your control during your lifetime.   You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.   You can direct your bequest to a particular purpose (be sure to check with Physicians for Social Responsibility to make sure your gift can be used as intended).  You know that your gift will benefit Physicians for Social Responsibility in the future just as you intend it to today.

 Life Insurance/Retirement Plan

  • Designate PSR as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a retirement plan. As with a bequest through your will, this can be a specific amount or a percentage of your estate and you can name PSR as a primary or contingent beneficiary.

Charitable Remainder Trust

  • Establish a charitable remainder trust to benefit PSR. This creates a trust that can provide income for your family for a designated length of time, after which the assets are transferred to PSR.

Gifts of Cash

  • You send a check or contribute online to the Physicians for Social Responsibility.  This way, you can use the simplest asset to make your donation — no appraisal or acceptance requirements as with gifts of appreciated property.  You are making a gift that Physicians for Social Responsibility can use immediately.
