Impending Vote on Safe Chemicals Act!
May 3, 2012
We are all alarmed by rising rates of early puberty and breast formation, certain childhood cancers, infertility, learning and developmental disabilities. Studies show links between toxic chemicals we’re exposed to every day and many of these negative health trends. And almost all pregnant women in America have toxic chemicals in their bodies.
While we can educate people to avoid certain plastics or learn which fish have mercury, only legislation will protect us from chemicals we cannot avoid such as toxic flame retardants (in plastics) or bisphenol A (in canned food).
We need your signature on a petition in support of the Safe Chemicals Act, which would vastly improve the pre-market testing of many chemicals. Together we can counter the $52 million the chemical industry spent last year lobbying to block this bill!
