Climate change’s threats to human health and life are growing. Will you join our latest effort to roll back climate change?
People across the nation are calling for safe chemicals. Will you?
December 13, 2011
Right now, people across the country are calling their Senators,
asking them to put common-sense limits on toxic chemicals by sponsoring the
Safe Chemicals Act of 2011. Will you join thousands of people in making a call today?
Chemicals
in commerce are regulated by a statute that was passed in 1976 and has not had
a major overhaul since. That statute allows chemicals to enter the market
without adequate safety testing. Americans are then exposed to chemicals
through consumer products, air, water, soil, and food.
Are there health
implications to these exposures? Evidence indicates that industrial
chemicals can increase the risk of health problems ranging from asthma and
infertility to heart disease, obesity, birth defects, and cancer.
Please tell your Senators that we need common-sense limits
on toxic chemical exposures. It is so important for Senators to hear your
voice. Phone calls really do make a difference.
Join us in calling for safer chemicals today.
