You support healthy communities—do your senators?
October 19, 2017
We look to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect our communities from air pollution, unsafe water, and the health impacts of climate change.
When funding for the EPA is up for debate, lives are at stake. The most vulnerable people in our country, including children, pregnant women, and communities of color, depend on the EPA to protect them from environmental hazards.
Soon, the Senate will vote on how much funding to provide the EPA. The Trump administration has already proposed to cut the EPA's budget to 30 percent below its current level. Now, we're alarmed that some in Congress are lining up to slash EPA's budget.
Congress must grant the EPA sufficient funding so it can protect health in all communities. Urge your senators to support a budget for the EPA that maintains or increases funding for clean air, clean water and climate protection programs.
