Make a difference in the challenge to confront global warming and prevent nuclear war and the development and use of nuclear weapons.

Stop Congress from making a big mistake
May 28, 2013
Congress plans to upgrade the B61 nuclear warhead with what we consider to be new military capabilities. The message this sends to the world is dangerous and hurts our efforts to curb nuclear weapons proliferation. If Congress does not hear from you, they will listen to industry interests who want this proposal to go through.
Your effort makes a difference! Over the past few months, you have put pressure on the White House and Congress to pursue a world free of nuclear weapons. We have won key victories on two nuclear weapons facilities and begun to build a stronger opposition to nuclear weapons spending. Some leaders in Congress, however, are hoping that we are not paying attention and will move to spend $10 billion on a wasteful and dangerous program to upgrade our nuclear weapons arsenal.
We need your help to make sure your elected official is hearing from constituents as we push them to stop this program. Make a phone call today!
With your pressure, we will make the case that this program is not just a bad policy but also an unpopular one. At a time when schools are shuttering, our infrastructure is fraying, and we have insufficient funding for first responders -- we know that citizens across the political spectrum would be against wasting our money on the weapons of the Cold War.
