Director of Philanthropy
Cerece Rennie Murphy is the Director of Philanthropy for Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) overseeing all fundraising, marketing, event planning, and membership engagement efforts.
As a nonprofit professional, Ms. Murphy has over 15 years of experience in program development, project management, and fundraising in both the community and international development arenas. Prior to her position with PSR, Ms. Murphy served as the Director of Development at Hope and a Home, a transitional housing program for homeless families and the Chief Development Officer at the Development Corporation of Columbia Heights, a community development corporation in the Washington area. She also served as a Program Officer at CHF International, managing USAID-funded projects in Afghanistan, Montenegro, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
Ms. Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University, a Masters in Social Work from Boston College, and a Masters in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. She is also a proud DC native, a mother of two children, and an award-winning author of science fiction and fantasy novels and children’s books.
