James Baier, MD, MPH
Resident Psychiatrist at Yale University
New Haven, Connecticut
James Baier is a resident psychiatrist and advocate whose primary interests lie at the intersection of climate change, mental illness, and social determinants of health. He serves on the national board of Physicians for Social Responsibility and has previously served on the board of Philadelphia Physicians for Social Responsibility while attending medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. During medical school James organized a series of advocacy trainings at multiple health professions schools in the Philadelphia area. These trainings were attended by hundreds of active providers and students and helped provide them with the tools necessary to advocate for public policy changes that would benefit their patients. James is currently working with students and faculty at the Yale University School of Medicine to incorporate more topics related to climate change and human health into the curriculum.
