How will the next U.S. President respond to growing, complex, interdependent and interconnected global challenges?

Today all nations face common planet-wide social, physical and political challenges. The U.S. has a huge global footprint affecting critical, interrelated arenas including the world economy, climate and environment, military action, powerful nuclear arsenals, and global refugee and immigration pressures. Along with the outsized U.S. footprint comes large U.S. responsibility. This forum encourages the candidates to address a selection of the issues and concerns shared across an increasingly unstable global community.

PSR Iowa is the lead organizer of this forum with candidates for the 2020 U.S. presidential election. To date, public conversations with presidential candidates have focused on important domestic issues and often overlook pressing global concerns. This timely and unique event explores this vitally important focus. Forum organizers also include Veterans for Peace, Peace Iowa, Union of Concerned Scientists, and Iowa City Foreign Relations Council.
