PSR Iowa, a founding member of the People’s Coalition for Social, Political and Environmental Responsibility, will again have a prominent place in the Annual 4th Fest, July 4th at noon (CDT). In concert with the parade theme honoring the city’s founding & electrification with hydropower, we’ll be entertaining and entreating others to Recover, Rebuild, Re-energize from Hydropower to Wind & Solar.
From July 25-28, 10 AM to 7:00 PM (CDT) PSR Iowa will again take a prominent role in the Johnson County Fair, exhibiting with the People’s Coalition, promoting clean energy, nuclear abolition, and social justice for the health of all Iowans. We’ll also be polling fair goers opinions about pipelines, CAFO’s, air and water pollution.
Friday, Aug. 6; 7:00 PM Japanese Bell. (West of the Iowa Judicial Branch Bldg, 1111 E. Court Ave. DM) A remembrance and memorial service to include reflections, poetry, music, and the traditional ringing of the bell and placement of flowers.
Sun. Aug. 8; 1:30- 3:00 PM First Unitarian Church, 1800 Bell Ave. DM. Zoom presentations to be followed by local responses.
Global Zero will share their campaign to secure international commitments to a No First Strike policy. The National Iranian American Council will present an update on the status of the reinstatement efforts of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran Nuclear Deal.
NIAC will also give an update of the impact of sanctions on the Iranian people.
